Afin d’améliorer les écosystèmes et de promouvoir des pratiques vertueuses, de plus en plus de vignerons installent des ruches dans leurs vignobles, symboles de symbiose entre la nature et l’homme, tout comme la viticulture, donnant naissance à des produits emblématiques.
Les ruches empilées et alignées forment un mur sur lequel des paysages peints forment une mosaïque qui illustre les itinéraires des "éclaireuses" et "butineuses", dans un rayon d’environ 3 km.
The artwork
In an effort to improve ecosystems and promote sustainable practices, more and more winegrowers are installing beehives in their vineyards — symbols of the symbiosis between nature and humans, much like viticulture itself, giving rise to emblematic products.
The stacked and aligned hives form a wall on which painted landscapes create a mosaic illustrating the paths taken by the 'scout' and 'forager' bees within a radius of approximately 3 kilometers.

Artiste plasticien, Mathieu Arfouillaud a développé un univers pictural autour du paysage contemporain et de ses modes de représentation. Peu à peu, il lui est apparu difficile de traiter du paysage sans prendre en compte les périls qui le menacent. L’intégration des enjeux écologiques à sa pratique a ouvert de nouveaux champs exploratoires.

Mathieu Arfouillaud began by developing a pictorial universe around contemporary landscapes and their modes of representation. Gradually, it seemed increasingly difficult for him to address the landscape without acknowledging the dangers threatening it. The integration of ecological issues into his practice led to new exploratory fields.
