01Ni artiste, ni artisan. Lionel est avant tout un travailleur du métal, guidé par la seule soif de créer lignes et volumes. Sans culture artistique, il privilégie un rapport direct à la matière et au geste, au plus loin des mots. Il a abordé le fer comme un périple : une formation en ferronnerie d’art à Carcassonne, puis une forge à Dublin, l’école des compagnons du devoir à Reims. Ont suivi 15 ans d’artisanat pour désapprendre les gestes appris et constituer son propre langage au fer.

Neither an artist nor a craftsman, Lionel is above all a metalworker, driven solely by the desire to create lines and volumes. Without any artistic background, he favors a direct relationship with the material and the gesture, far removed from words. He approached ironwork as a journey: training in artistic ironwork in Carcassonne, forging in Dublin, and time at the Compagnons du Devoir in Reims. This was followed by 15 years of craftsmanship, unlearning the gestures he had been taught to forge his own language in iron.
